Cheep Seats

This encaustic painting features a whimsical line of birds perched high on a telephone wire. It is comprised of multiple layers of clear and pigmented wax resulting in a sculptural, multi-dimensional work. A custom blend of beeswax and damar resin adds a translucency to give the artwork a glow and depth.

The overall artwork size is 24" x 24", and it is painted on a cradled birch panel which eliminates the need for framing. The edges of the panel are clear varnished to allow the woodgrain to show through. The artwork is signed and dated on the back, and it is wired and ready for hanging.
